STORY BEHIND WHY LORD GANESHA & MATA LAKSHMI WORSHIPPED TOGETHER ON DEEPAVALI DAY (DIWALI)

On the day of Diwali Lord Ganesha is worshiped with Goddess Lakshmi instead of Lord Vishnu. There are many questions that arise, why Lord Vishnu is not worshiped along with  Goddess Lakshmi, and what is the relation between Lakshmi and Ganesha? The answers to all these questions can be answered by one mythological story.

THE STORY : 

Once, when Mata Lakshmi said that she is the most worshipped goddess. Then Lord Vishnu said, “ You have all qualities but you didn’t enjoy motherhood and for a woman, motherhood is important”

Mata Lakshmi was disheartened hearing this and she went to Mata Parvathi. She listed out her problem to Mata Parvathi and asked, “ You have two sons. If you give me one son, then I can enjoy motherhood. You will still have one more son.”

Mata Parvati said to Mata Lakshmi, “ I have two sons. Kartikeya and Ganesha. Kartikeya has six mouths, so he needs to be fed all the time while Ganesha is very naughty and need to be kept an eye always. You don’t stay at one place, then how will you take care of my sons ?”

Then Mata Lakshmi said to her, “ I will keep your sons close to my heart and will love them with all my heart. So, please give me one as an adopted child”

Mata Parvati then gave Lord Ganesha as an adopted child to Mata Lakshmi who became soo happy and said, “ From today onwards, I am giving all my accomplishments, and prosperity to my son Ganesha. I will fulfill all his desires. Those who are dearer to Ganesha are dearer to me. Those who don’t worship Ganesha along with me or insult him, I will stay far away from them. Whenever my worship is performed, Ganesha’s worship is essential. I will stay where he stays.”

Hearing this, Mata Parvati became extremely happy and handed over Ganesha to Mata Laksmi.

Lord Ganesha is the remover of obstacles and the god of intelligence, and wisdom. Mata Lakshmi is the goddess of fortune and wealth.

Does a person need anything more than intelligence, wisdom, and good fortune?

Hence worshipping Mata Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha together will elevate you to super success in life. 

Lord Ganesha removes obstacles in our path and Mata Lakshmi helps us convert our ideas into action. This ideal combination ensures that only practical ideas are considered and implemented.
